Kame-sennin, Cell, Frieza, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Gohan, Korin… we tend to forget their very existence within the mod for they’re useless, as the main NPC, Kami, offers most basic skills already, and their specific skills are unintersting, excpet Babidi for the Majin Seal, and King Kai for Kaioken, and as of the last udapte, Whis for God Form. Heck Grand Elder Guruu was added but does nothing that Kami can’t do so…
So I think it would be nice to give them some glory, and by glory, I mean features of course. And by features, I mean mentoring
The idea is simple, you would have the ability to pick one single NPC as your Mentor. Depending on some of your attributes, they’d give you bonuses. Here are some examples :
-If you are of the same race, they could give a bonus to your Racial Form.
-If they know ki techniques you know too, they’d get heavily buffed (except Ki Blast because everybody knows it)
-If you are of the same class (Warrior, Spiritualist, Martial Artist), they could buff some of your attributes accordingly
-If you have the Divine effect (unobtainable as of now), godly NPCs could buff your god forms.
-etc
Of course, I your alignement is not accepted by your mentor, you can’t pick him and if you already were his student, you lose him.
Maybe some mentors could even give you maluses in exchange of stronger bonuses.
Some NPCs are outstanding because of their status or known abilities in the DB universe or what they offer in the mod.
To me, those NPCs are : Whis, King Kai, Elder Guruu, Kami, Babidi, Korin
Maybe they should have very specific and special bonuses/maluses, but that’s a subject we won’t talk about in this post, because they are specific and deserve their own thread.
