Hayxel
ParticipantHey, I’m playing as a saiyan and I’d like a build that uses both melee and ki attacks, but I don’t know how many points I should put in each stat to make it good. Can someone give me a hand with it? I’m playing as a pure saiyan, martial artist.

ParticipantYou’ll never be truly powerful with a mixed build, but here’s what I’d say:
Str: Half Con
Dex: Half Con
Con: 2x your other stats
Wil: Half Con
Mind: 2k, 4k, 6k, 8k, or 10k
Spirit: Equals Con -

Participant*sigh* allow me. I personally run a balanced build myself, so yeah.
First of all, CON as your highest stat, more HP and stamina never hurts, plus making it twice your damaging stats allows you to run a pseudo-SK build, which is great.
Up next is your SPI, which you have to keep slightly below your CON, too high and Meditation will drain your stamina massively. Having SPI higher than your damaging stats allows you to hold forms with much more ease, help you on your draining ki attacks, and SPI helps with the ki skills too (more on that one later).
Then goes DEX, which goes below SPI, but above the damaging stats. DEX allows you to get a boost on speed, and, most importantly, defense. You’re really gonna need DEF, as it’s really important in PVP, not to mention having high CON but low DEX is not a good idea. If you’re running as an Arcosian you may want to consider having DEX above or equal to SPI.
Then come the stats EVERYONE wants and are obsessed for, the damaging stats, STR and WIL, most notably STR. We all know what they do, boost your punch and ki dmg, respectively. Personally, I greatly recommend giving WIL a chance, it seems off putting, but trust me, it can really do some damage, far more than STR can, if you’ve got a good move. STR basically explains itself, you can hit hard with it, but it comes with quite a few drawbacks people don’t notice as much. First of all, the more STR you have, the more stamina will be drained from hitting things, this means that even if you hit harder than some people, you will hit LESS times than them, thus, less damage overall. Another thing is SK, or Super Kaioken. Super Kaioken is basically stacking the form you’re in with kaioken, greatly increasing the power of it overall. Some servers have it differently, but having too much STR will always at least hinder the form. In some it’s not even possible to do SK without a specific build (CON being 3x your damaging stats). Another natural effect from raising STR too much is having underwhelming other stats, such as DEX.
And last and certainly least, is MND. MND has some uses, but on most servers, MND is next to pointless. MND can boost the TP you can earn from punches, the amount varying depending on configs. However, a large majority of servers use the quest system for TP, making this basically pointless. MND can also boost your flight speed, but MND’s most important use has to be the ability to gain new skill slots, which is basically a must if you want to be powerful in a server, once you hit max skill slots at 8000 MND, the stat is pointless and you do not need to level it up anymore (unless you use a tp punch training system).
Up next I’ll speak of the skills you should get as a balanced build and each of the uses you get from them:
-Fly, speaks for itself, you don’t need it if you have the command to fly (/fly)
-Potential Unlock, a must have, without it you’re missing out on a lot of your power.
-Meditation, must have, you’ll really need it to recover your ki while in a form or after firing a blast.
-Kaioken, I already explained Kaioken prior, but in short, Kaioken gives you the ability to use SK if you have the right build, which makes the form you’re in much stronger.
-Ki sense, optional, You do not really fully need ki sense, as damage indicators can do it’s main job well, however, ki sense can also let you see an opponent’s power, see DBC HP, and most importantly, get the ability to lock on to things.
-Dash, optional, dash is great for PVP, allowing you to outspeed things, and in PVP, speed is key.
-Endurance, optional but greatly recommended, greatly boosts your DEF.(Fusion and godform are obvious so I’m not going to put them here)
and here comes something interesting: the ki skills.
-Ki fist, in my opinion the best one of all the 3 ki skills, ki fist allows you to gain extra damage by sacrificing your ki. Ki fist is great because it means that upping your SPI will also give you more STR, which means you won’t need to worry about it as much.
-Ki boost, this one has no drawbacks (aside from taking a skill slot), Ki boost in short just, well, boosts your ki!
-Ki protection, similar to Ki fist, protection gives you extra DEF by sacrificing ki, however, the problem here is that every hit you recieve now will drain your ki, which is a major issue, so until you can disable the ki skills, this one is not recommended. That’s basically it for a balanced build. However, you should consider this:
Try out Namekian or Human, I know, I know, “BUT I WANNA BE A SAIYAN”. Trust me, Namekian and Human work best in this build. Namekian warrior especially (Namekians have a natural great ki so warrior is ironically more balanced than their Martial Artist). Humans are just balanced in general, so any class will do great for them, plus their stamina is amazing so they can hold their forms with much more ease than the other races can. Not being a Namekian or Human won’t mean you can’t have a balanced build, it’s just they work best with it. Just, try giving them a shot.
And that’s it! Sheesh was this longer than I expected, but I like making long posts explaining things in DBC, so this was fun to do! Anywho, if you got any questions about balanced builds or any other things, just try speakin’ with me over at the Jingames main server (once maintenance is over), as that’s where I’m most active. Anyway, see ya!

Hayxel
ParticipantGeez Poke, you probably dont remember me, I’m HayxelPVP (GogetaBlue).
I really wanna be a saiyan, as I love cosplaying characters and rn I wanna cosplay Gohan. So, I only have 5 skill slots, so I can’t have all the skills right now, what would you take? I personally would take fly, potential unlock, meditation, endurance and ki sense.
Also about the stats, it should be something like this?:
Str: half con
dex: 60% con
con: higher stat
wil: half con
mnd: 2k,4k,6k…
spi: 90% con.Would that be alright?

ParticipantKay seems pretty legit for the most part, but uh i saw a huge mistake. You said dex increases speed. That’s only true if you max dex. Which uhhhh…….. Good luck doing that shit lmfao.
Also, the point where mind stops being useful at on servers depends on the config stat cap.
I’m pretty sure it’s like 1/25 of the stat cap in mind = 1 more skill slot, so that makes a 50k stat cap require 2k mind to get 1 more skill slot.
The best way to just check is to hover above “Avaiable skill slots” on your skill sheet, and adding your amount of mind to that.
So if you need 50 more mind for an avaiable skill slot and you have 25 mind, 75 mind will increase your skill cap by 1, therefore making the max amount of mind you could have without it being useless 375.Anywho, ‘xcuse me, ima go contemplate life for reading through a lot of your comment about things i already know.
