In Dragon Block C, the two classes, Warrior and Spiritualist, have several problems that I hope will be corrected in the future. Warriors have to deal with the mobs having 2-block-long punch radii and Spiritualists have to deal with their unreliable Ki Attacks. For this post, I’m going to focus on the Spiritualists.
      Problems:
Ki Attacks are too weak relatively.
On a scale of what level you are and how powerful your enemies are, Ki Attacks aren’t matching well. For teleporting enemies such as Cell, it becomes a tedious task to target and hit the enemy with your ki blast before he pops up behind you and siphons away 90% of your HP in seconds. In the case that you actually do manage to hit Cell, more often than not, your attack was far too weak to even put a dent in his HP. ‘Strong’ Ki Attacks take away all your Ki and leave you having to run away to heal or eat foodstuff to recover Ki. I don’t think the mod is meant to be a hide-and-seek battle in the endgame for Ki Attack users just so that they can try to maintain their transformation while edging their Ki meter. It certainly doesn’t help that the ‘strong’ Ki Attack will require 10 more hits to take out the enemy.
Decent Ki Attacks require too much Ki.
A 100% Ki Blast with 150 Willpower will do about 1000 damage. With 150 Willpower, which, mind you, takes a lot of time to achieve naturally, you should be around the beginning of the Cell Games. Cell has 15k HP when you fight him initially. If you can only deal 1000 damage at the cost of completely wiping out and risking being killed, there’s not a much different option than attacking, fleeing, healing, and repeating until Cell dies. People who choose to play with Meditation as a passive skill will be stuck in this tedious cycle due to their lack of recovery. Ki isn’t meant to be expended as easily as it is. A Ki Pool, to my understanding, is supposed to last a long battle, if trained properly, without having to recover it after every big attack.
      Ki Attacks are too slow.
Relying completely on ki attacks, but having to wait up to an entire minute to use them again becomes a huge disservice to Spiritualists. Sure, there’s an upgrade to make the cooldown for Ki Attacks shorter, but it really doesn’t help. Even after upgrading Cooldown reduction by 10 levels, you’re still left with a 30 second cooldown. This still is a large amount of time to be without your main attack and isn’t worth the upgrade–let alone the amount of time and effort it takes to completely ugrade any ki attack. I understand the logic behind having your strongest attacks take 10 seconds to get within the range of being able to be fired, but when your strongest attack deals a whopping 1000 damage, it’s not worth it at all.
Cool points, but how do you propose all this be fixed? Surely the solution isn’t that simple!
Ah, but it is. For the most part, anyway. I propose class-based skills for each class that will make using the different classes more variant. For Spiritualists, I suggest a class-exclusive skill called ‘Ki Mastery’.
Ki Mastery is a passive Spiritualist skill that can be leveled either based on attribute levels or act as a standalone upgradeable skill. It will allow for significantly lower energy costs for Ki Attacks, significantly higher Ki Attack damage, significantly lowered casttime and cooldown, and the ability to have 50, instead of 10, Upgrade points for Ki Attacks at maximized Ki Attack mastery. This will allow the attacks to reach level 50 in order to better polish one’s Ki Attack arsenal. As a result of Ki Mastery being available exclusively to Spiritualists, they will have much more proficiency in Ki Attacks than a Warrior would.
      Example:
      Standard:
A Namekian with 150 Willpower will deal ~1000 damage with a 100% powered Ki Blast after waiting a 10-second charging time and have all its energy drained, giving it a 60 second cooldown for that attack and with no Ki left. The Namekian will have to run away and eat foodstuff to regain Ki and/or loss HP in order to retry again after the cooldown.
      Ki Mastery:
A Namekian with a reasonable level of Ki Mastery and 150 Willpower will deal ~4000 damage with a 100% powered Ki Blast after waiting a 7-second charging time and have 60% of its Ki left, giving it a 20-second cooldown for that attack. The Namekian can use other Ki attacks in its arsenal without having to run away to hide and recover HP.
Ki Mastery Maxed (unrealistic to have in-game):
A Namekian with a Maximized level of Ki Mastery and 150 Willpower will deal ~9000 damage with a 100% powered fully mastered (50 lvls) Ki Blast after waiting a 2-second charging time and have 80% of its Ki left, giving it a 10-second cooldown for that attack. The Namekian can essentially volley powerful attacks and maintain its Ki Pool.
      Conclusion:
If Ki Mastery, along with the other class-exclusive skills that I didn’t get to, were to be added, it would help greatly separate the classes by usage positives and would make the game slightly less tedious for a class that doesn’t gain TP as reliably as warriors do. It would also make Passive Meditation a much more viable config to have, considering the usability of Ki Pools and the promotion of being able to maintain them without constant regens.
This idea isn’t set into stone; feel free to criticize any problems you might see occurring due to it.

As an arco main i can constantly fire 100% ki blasts at little ki cost in fact its often the case im doing 10 times the dmg:ki(default configs) so this leads me to believe you are using saiyans as your main, other than that i like your ideas

I tested what you told me and I found Arcosians to have the same 1000 damage for a maximized Large Blast attack at 150 Willpower. Perhaps it’s due to the ease of raising stats with the Arcosian race as opposed to the Namekian race, but, after accumulating 150 in Willpower, max power is 1000 damage. I noticed, however, a strange error. Arcosian Ki Attacks seem to cost 10 times less than they should which results in a substantially smaller cost in Ki to use Ki Attacks. As a Namekian, this problem doesn’t exist. Indeed, Namekians have to use up 10 times more ki to use the same attack whereas Arcosians are able to maintain their Ki pool, though it is due purely to this error in coding, this is the kind of Spiritualist I wish for the class to become in the future.

Arcosian’s right, you can config pretty much everything in the mod, including ki blasts standards.
But even with that a warrior build is way more useful than a spiritualist.
Cast/cooldown have always been severly reducing spiritualists’s efficiency, mountains of ki as cost doesn’t help either. I like your idea, but compared to a warrior who just have to keep up his constitution and strength, it’d take ages to really be on an equal level.
Personally I see things like ki techniques but more melee oriented such as the ki bla- STOP TIS OVERASKED- shockwaves, ki shockwaves, things like Light Grenade, punches with knockback, well things that keep ennemies at bay, or at least make them understand that engaging melee isn’t riskless. But the thing I’m looking forward to the most is ki barrage, cause while being costly it allows perfect crow control in PVE and makes approach trickier in PVP

I agree with Uprising, as an Arcosian player my ki techniques are usually insanely powerful and cost very little to use.
