TheStarHawkParticipantI made a much larger survival based suggestion that asked to fundamentally change the mod, but this one will be much more tame, yet have a large effect on how to approach situations.
Just one simple change. Add a config to make food work like it does in vanilla Minecraft, rather than how it did in alpha and beta versions, or, in other words, one that would disable automatic healing from eating, and instead take hunger, saturation, and the player’s stats into consideration for prolonged healing. Naturally, Senzu beans would be exempt to this due to their magical nature.
As for how they should be implemented, the change would have to be server sided, and it would probably be better to have separate configs for food’s effect on ki and health. A name like “Eat To Replenish Ki/Health” would be easily understood and to the point, just set it to true or false. Whatever is decided to be the default is naturally up to y’all if implemented, but I’m sure existing servers would prefer it to be defaulted to “true” for the way I worded it.
Only issue I can think of would be the complete uselessness of dinosaur meat. Well, and that it would make the game more difficult, but perhaps special healing items (like Xenoverse’s healing capsules) could be crafted for a much greater cost than cooking up some food to balance it out.

IAmRaptorParticipantCombined with your precedent post upon this topic, it’s overall great ideas, but there’s one big issue : it would make the mod harder, and people usually do not like difficulty of any kind.
Myself included, I know there’s a pack of people who finds that DBC kills the Vanilla aspects of the game and make it easy to a point it becomes boring.
It could be easily changed by fusing training with vanilla basic mechanics, or as you state taking hunger and tiredness in count.
But most people don’t give a sh*t about that as they play this mod only because it’s easy and they want to be absurdly powerful in no time.
So I think those ideas should be gathered under the name of “Survival Tweaks”, and be able to be turned on/off.-

TheStarHawkParticipantYes, I realize some people wish to be flashy and powerful, while others crave a challenge. That’s why I suggested this as a confirmation option, to be decided on a server to server basis.
