  For some reason it let me reply to my original thread. Anyway you need four mods in order to be able to join the server:

  https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fakename
  https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fast-leaf-decay
  https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/mutton-mod
  
  Make sure to download the 1.7.10 version of each mod and put it in your mods folder, then restart Minecraft and try joining the server.
