DevBlog 20w43 – Next mod update progress – Complete Ultra Instinct, Jutsu improvement, Porunga

Hello everyone!

Today’s DevBlog will actually be a devlog about the update which I’m currently working on. As written in the previous post I want to work on Ultra Instinct and Jutsus with Ki Attacks at least giving them a fresh look.

DevBlog 20w20 – Next mod update – Wave and Jutsu improvements

Yo everyone

Small status update:

I’ve taken a small break from modding, but I’ve been planning and working on a new game instead which is not about an already existing anime, but about my own story. I know that that isn’t something a lot of people here would be interested in, but it is what I always wanted to work on.

I was also planning to make a “How to install DBC” and “How to make a DBC server” video, but a few download sites regarding those were down at that moment and I haven’t managed to edit the JinGames Wiki pages without using Jin’s profile so I just went with the game programming instead.

Next mod update

It’s planned to be the second part of the Naruto Jutsu update to at least slightly improve them, AND also add a continuous Jutsu firing type, which then could also be used to hopefully rework the DBC Wave attacks. Naturally it will also come with small changes and bug fixes.

After that I want to work on Complete Ultra instinct, adding multiple levels for it, and configs for servers to customize how it would work for example the health % requirement for each stage.

I haven’t gotten into Any of this yet, so I am not sure how well it will go, but I’ll do my best. They might take a while to be finished though.

DevBlog 19w49 – Next update

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve made a DevBlog (do Status updates count?) so let’s get in to it. Let’s answer the most wanted question “when is the next update released”. Sadly I don’t have a fix answer to that, but an answer like that is kind of a let down, so I will just say that I plan to release it sometime this year, most likely around the middle or end of december.

This update is getting done far slower than I expected it to be. I did take a little break, but that is not the main reason for this, but just simply me constantly working on things I haven’t worked on, so it’s just a lot of learning still sadly, and getting near 2020 brings a few changes to law I have to learn about.

I plan to do a few new YouTube videos like for example “how to install DBC”, because our current ones are kind of outdated, and I plan to make a little guide video on how to play and basics for the mods, and maybe even a video on what I’m adding to new updates to spare you the time reading it.

Alright alright, but what is in the next update if it’s going to be split into multiple parts? you might ask.. well it’s going to be more customization options for client settings, bug fixes, texture changes, few new aura particles (that of course can be turned off in the JRMCore client settings), 2 new Jutsus for Naruto C and the new Rasengan. Chidori and Fireball that were shown in a previous Status update spoiler video.. yeah those few Naruto C additions took far more time planning out than I though so it isn’t really a big Naruto update… sorry.
These are only the things I can already say with confidence that they are going to be in it, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t going to be anymore added to it.

UPDATE

Hello everyone, this is a quick update video about JinGames.

I will make another one maybe next week, depending on how much I’ll get done until then.

Our Goodbyes

It’s been a while. I know most of you have heard of the news by now. The staff are going to give our goodbyes properly. Just a quick footnote before we begin, the mods made by JinRyuu, A.K.A. Tamas Nagy, they belong to his family. They seem to have no plans to continue the mods or pass them to someone else to be continued, at least for now. So don’t expect news of the mods continuation.

“I’d just like to say. Thank you. Thanks for being such a great person, taking your precious time with us. Thank you for allowing us to all meet each other, and make many friends because of you. Thank you for going till the very end with this project. Jin, I’m so grateful for you. For everything you did for us. I’m so sorry. Over how everyone treated you. Over my mistakes. But please do know we love you. And we’ll always remember you. Farewell Jin. Words can’t describe how jingames, our staff, and this beautiful community you’ve created because of passion thanks you and will miss you dearly.”

A few days before it happened, I thought about getting a gift for Jin. We hadn’t talked much recently and I wanted to do something nice for him. I’ve hit a rough spot in life lately, and I got to really thinking how much I owed to Jin. The first time I met him was several years ago. Thanks to Ryuu, who knew I was a writer and brought me on to help with quests. Not going to lie, I fanboyed a bit. This is back when there was no devblog, and any news about the mod came from the updates themselves. After all, this was the guy who made the mod I came home every day to play with the friends I made because of it. At first it was mostly Jin working out plans and stuff with me. I helped him out, tried not to throw my suggestions in his face for a bit, and eventually we started taking breaks. We played games, talked about his plans, his life, and before I realized a year had passed and Jin was no longer a mystic figure to me. He was my friend. A good one, honestly.

Jin always joked about his life in Hungary sometimes, though he didn’t talk too much about it. He enjoyed voice calls with everyone he got the chance with, as it let him practice his English. He talked a bit about his family and friends back in Hungary. About two years after we met, he told me he sometimes wanted to just, pack up and move to America. He never got to telling me why he stopped. I can guess though, considering how often he talked about his girlfriend. The little glimpses I got into his life painted a stressful, but happy picture. Jin really would work days, serious days, without sleep. I would go to bed and wake up and he’d still be working on an update. I asked him why he never took a break, though I can’t remember his exact answer, I can paraphrase it a bit: “If I took a break the community would be not happy.” I knew it was true, but I still wish he had taken a break so I could have spent more time with him.

I have so much I want to say about my time with Jin, those wonderful times with someone who went from an idol to a very dear friend. However, I’m not the only one with goodbyes to say. I will just close my eulogy with this. Jin, whether you agree with him or not, whether you liked the direction he took his mods or not, cared about you guys. He really did. We all are thankful for you, Tamas. Thank you for bringing us together. Thank you for creating something that has introduced me to some of the best people I’ve ever known. People who I know I am still friends with, through the good and bad. Thank you, literally, for everything I have right now. I’ll miss you.

Ryuu

“About 6 years ago, I stumbled upon a Minecraft mod. A mod that was based on the show that has had a huge impact on my life and still does to this day as far as health and morality. But for the most part, was just awesome to watch. Within a few months of playing, I had a great chance to meet Thomas “Jin Ryuu” Nagy. He wasn’t like most others because he is someone who had found joy in the small things in life. He didn’t blame what he didn’t or couldn’t get on circumstance. He found joy in the small things. He pushed forward to make not only himself happy, but those surrounding him. He had bigger plans of creating a real company. He inspired not only me, but everyone around him with his actions. I pray that his soul has been kept safe for when I get to see him in the next life. He was a great developer and an even greater friend.”

Abelatox

“I discovered the mod around Minecraft 1.4.7 when I was looking for a Dragon Ball Mod, at first, it didn’t catch my attention but I gave it a second try and it was awesome, soon I tried to contact Jin to help to translate the mods into Spanish and he introduced me to LoroyCF, the former Spanish translator. Then we started to work as a team until LoroyCF had to leave, we did him a Minecraft map for his 25th birthday. I remember talking to him about bugs, crashes… and even normal things like our countries, his driving license, his friends… Thanks to this mod I met most of my friends who I talk nowadays and I wouldn’t change that for anything in the world. Thank you Jin, thank you for everything you have done and be sure you won’t be forgotten.”

Thank you, Jin, for everything and everyone in this community – From The Jingames Staff & Friends

I may edit in other staffs eulogies, if you are on staff and didn’t make it, just message me on discord.

A Tragic end

In 2018 October 9, Tamás Nagy, known as JinRyuu has passed away at the age of 30.

Every day he spend thinking about what future plans he has, but around October 2012, he started working on his first widely known minecraft mod, Dragon Block C (Craft).
The mod has given him motivation and light to a bright future he wanted to work towards.
It was not easy at first, but he never lost his sight on his dreams, and after years and years, his name was known by more people he ever Dreamed of, it made him really happy.
Although his path was full with hardships, and times when he could not bring himself to work for weeks from stress, his dream to become someone, who leaves a big impact on many people did not let him give up, and he enjoyed it.
Enduring 6 years, he became really proud of the end result of how loved his works are.

But on day he started feeling pain, and decided to not go to a doctor this time…
Days later he suddenly collapsed, his blood circulation stopped working… after calling an ambulance, the doctors tried to help him, but sadly… it was too late…

He was a Great person, and a Great brother, and will be missed!

Thank you for everything Jin, and everyone in the community!

About the future of his works:
– His mods, and everything he worked on are completely stopped for now on his side
– Everything he gained some sort of an income will be shut down for now

Chapter 6 of my book is out!

44,668,800 Seconds
744,480 Minutes
12,408 Hours
517 Days
74 Weeks
16 Months

That’s the time frame in which I worked on Chapter 6 of my book.

Sorry, not DBC/NC news, but I am happy about this. Chapter 6 is the long awaited end to my book for now, the end of all the planning I have set forth to this moment. I started this 4 years ago, near the beggining of my time working as a developer for DBC. This means this is really something coming full circle for me. Four years of me being a DBC dev, maybe even longer. With this humongous project out of the way, I can move on to other things in my life, looking back happy at everyone whose supported me on the way. I don’t know what comes next for both DBC and me, but one things for sure, you guys have been there from the beggining, and that means more to me than you will ever know.

Sorry to disappoint after such a long wait that this isn’t a post on DBC news, but I promise I’ll find something to talk about soon. I’ve just been wandering about in life trying to decide what I am going to do. I turned 20 a few months ago, so it’s been a big chapter of my life closing.

Community Mondays – Training (on a Wednesday because Monday was Christmas)

Original post by: Gheorghiță Graure

I have few new ideas for new training methods because the actual one is so boring just punching things… And zenkai boost idea for Saiyans
Ok first the Zenkai is like this: When you are fighting with someone and you are dying like when your character has 0 HP and it struggles in pain for few seconds before he dies and then if you eat a senzu bean or you don’t die (somehow) you get the zenkai boost
it is like a status effect increasing your stats 20 – 30% or if you want it will boost your stats (not being like a multipler and basicly get bigger stats increasig by 5 – 10%)
Ok now new training method would be:
⚫ Being able to do situps, pushups and phisycal exercices
⚫ Training in time chamber and with gravity device also would boost the TP given by pushups and what I said before
⚫ Killing things(not only punching them) to give you like their HP number / 2 (For example if a pig has 10HP when you kill it you will get 5 TP)
⚫ Get TP by walking in a gravity zone and if the gravity is too high for you like if it is more than 50 bigger(it could be configurable) than you dexterity you will die and if it is with 10 bigger than your dexterity you will only get hurt and when you walk you will get faster increasing the TP gain and a little bit the dexterity
And I want to say more but this should be necessary added !
SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH !

Don’t feel bad, not everyone is great at English!

Getting on, yes I have talked about this in the past. While Jin doesn’t currently want me talking about the future of his mods for reasons I won’t go into right now, I do have a lot of plans myself when it comes to training. I originally made a post with mini games for training, and no promises, but Jin is interested in making things like push ups and sit ups for the mod. Personally, I believe training in DBC is far too grindy right now and it can turn a lot of people away from the mod. The prospect of punching/blasting the same odd 6 npc’s until you are strong enough to take on the seventh just isn’t that appealing to most people. This is why a lot of servers include Custom NPC’s or other various mods to give gameplay more spice so people are more inclined to stay on longer. I’ve finished some DBC side quests, but side quests aren’t much of a fix to this problem overall. Side Quests and even a revamp to the main quests are the same kind of training but with different stories. You will just know WHY you are punching this npc.

So yes, mini-games would be the easiest way to remedy this problem. Currently, only one of the mini games I have suggested got into the mod, whilst the other is Jin’s own creation. I created a formula for the concentration minigame (clicking the balls) whilst Jin had the idea for the Shadow Dummy training. I do want to see a system in the future that forces a more diverse training style once more mini games come out. And for those who haven’t seen mini game formulas before, here are a few rough drafts I photo shopped for Jin! The only one that couldn’t work right now is Push ups, since the GUI’s can’t be coded to easily accept button inputs instead of clicking inputs, at least not right now, and Jin doesn’t want to go through the effort of finding a method for just a single mini game.

As for Zenkai, I doubt it will ever make an appearance in the mod. Zenkai is a Saiyan only boost that happens at near death, and I can’t see that being a popular addition with non-Saiyan players. It would also be a pain to balance, as Saiyans would have to be nerfed into the ground to make having a Zenkai boost fair, and that’s just a big ordeal I don’t think anyone wants. Also, with this new training stuff I hope places like Gravity chambers and the HTC can become more valuable by increasing the difficulty of the mini games but rewarding more tp!

Also! Congratulations to Dragon Ball Fighters for winning the winter Tournament of Power! Sorry to everyone that I couldn’t stream but my internet isn’t the best lately and it was around Christmas time when a lot is going on around my home.

Also for the 3 of you who read my writing, Chapter 6 of my book is looking to release sometime January. Keep an eye on the devblog, I’ll announce when I release it.

Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays, and see you all next year on Dragon Block C Devblog! Thanks for sticking with me guys!

Birthday Blog!

Well Not really. My birthday was the first of November, however I am posting this now because I just woke up. Anyway, a bit of an update, life has been super busy for me so I haven’t done much work on DBC lately. Sorry the devblog died again so soon after I said it would try to get back up. On the plus side I have learned about Jins new mod a bit more and can tell you guys a bit more about it, not all though, as Jin wants to leave some things as a surprise.

Anyway that’s about all I can say about it now. Tell me what you think, and I’ll see you soon!
