I have decided to announce that I am currently making a new Dragonball saga. What is different with this saga is that not only will I be including Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball Super, and Dragonball GT; but you can also choose whether you want to follow the DBGT or DBS storylines once you beat the DBZ sagas (Both will be included as beefed up, and lengthy side quests for those who want to do both lines without restarting the entire saga).
—I also want to say this before I continue: This is a WIP as of this post. It is a side project that I am working on occasionally and not constantly, meaning that it will not be released any time soon, maybe even not this year(explanation below).—
Along with this saga I will be making custom models for ALL of Dragonball, and some for Z, Super, and GT. These models, like my others, will be open source. As long as credit is given people can use them for anything they need.
While not required, I will make a map tailored to this saga. This will likely take several months on it’s own, so if enough people get behind this project I will release the saga and models without the map and then release the map when it is done.
I will be releasing the models on the current thread for them(Linked at the bottom) so if you want to look at the progress, or even use them yourself you can take a look there. As far as mods will go the only required mods as of right now are DBC and it’s dependants as well as DBASkins, since A: They have a lot of models already which will lighten my work load. And B: I have made some models for them which they requested I not make open to the public, an agreement I plan to honor, so I won’t be making a mod with said models in it. And unless DBASkins uses my open source models I will be making a mod with my own models, and maybe some other things.
If enough people are on board with this idea I will release a few “demos” using placeholder mobs so people can give me some feedback. Other than that I have nothing else to say for now, I’ll try to keep this thread, as well as my models thread, updated with my recent works.

Nice! Just a suggestion for your future models though, they need to be a child on the head in order to move properly when animating. A lot of the models you made I tinkered and that was one thing I did for when my mod gets a full, cnpc compatible, update.

This is how far I am in the saga. I have been trying to add as much of the story as I can but I may slim it down later, as most of the missions are text crawl.
A VERY early version of the map. I originally made it 12k x 12k blocks in size, but I shrunk it down to 5k x 5k for countless reasons. The main one being that it took over an hour to go from one end of the map to the other end.

Despite the project being new, I decided to make a poll so I don’t have to change more than I have to later.
This is a poll for how much of the story you want to be in the saga. Right now I am making DB very story intensive, but once I hit Z and onward, I will try to focus a little less on the story.

The majority of votes are asking for a story based saga, so that is what I’ll deliver.
Although I may be making this saga story heavy I won’t be forgetting that dbc is about fights, so don’t worry about not being able to fight as much. I’ll be sure to add as many fights as I can without degrading the quality too much.
As for if the story will be linear, I will try to make a few branching paths (Other than the super and gt lines, that is) that will give the player a bit more control over their story. I can’t guarantee this will make it into the final product but I will try my best.
I will also release a little demo after a bit more tweaking, of course I don’t have all the models done yet so in the demos everyone will be Nappa for now.

Been a while since any updates, huh?
I have decided to release a little demo for the saga so people can test out the first part of the saga and give feedback. This is an outdated version of the saga so a few things have changed since I made this version but it is still mostly the same and will give the same general experience. This demo goes up to the end of the first W.M.A.T. so not everything I have made is included yet, as more demos come out I will release more and more of the prototype story.
As a note, in this saga you do NOT replace Goku but rather become one of the main/primary characters for the story alongside Goku and the others.
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, please post it here as I am looking for ways I can improve the saga.
That is all for now, progress right now is slow but I will try to keep you guys updated on my works. You can expect the next update to be when I either get to the Piccolo jr. saga, or finish Dragon Ball and start working on DBZ.
P.S. As time progresses I will be putting out polls for you guys to participate in. I feel like I should be making more chances for community input so this can be as well made and entertaining for the DBC community as I can make it.

I don’t have anything else to show off for the moment, since I have yet to touch the models and I am still working on the story. I’m not too experienced with storytelling but I’ve been trying to keep close to the dragon ball storyline while still adding and changing events based on your character. I’ll be making a few more polls as well as progress on the saga, so the next update should have something more substantial in terms of saga progress.

yo, just a tip, if you’re starting from dragon ball, making balanced weak-ish transformations is basically impossible. It’s just the way stats and TP works – a 1.5x multiplier, for example, won’t mean anything when you yourself can easily multiply your stats that much with a much smaller amount of TP, and since your story is roleplay based, the early transformations wouldn’t have any effect on combat. The TP gaining system is pretty iffy and hard to scale late game, especially when combined with the attribute TP cost configs which are underwhelming. It’s kind of hard to explain, but for some reason it’s just how DBC works. Anyway, unless you’re making a custom training system with stats being individually upgraded by CNPC missions and completely drop the TP system, it would be insanely hard to pull off something like that and would take tons of testing.
Also, don’t rely on polls for things like configs – usually people don’t know how the config balance of your custom world works, since, y’know, they aren’t the ones that made it. Test around, maybe even play through and you’ll see what works and comprehend the mistakes way more easily. That would take some time though, lol

I didn’t plan on making transformations accessible until Z. So unless someone decided to grind on hostile mobs or try to use training missions (which only appear in the latter half of DB anyways) they won’t be able to get enough Tp to get any transformations. Even if they somehow got enough Tp for Kaioken they could have already been in DBZ. I do see what you mean when you say balancing is going to be a nightmare though. Tbh that is likely going to take the most time, especially since I’m working solo on these for right now.
As for the polls about configs, I wanted to see what most people preferred and take that into account when balancing the configs and writing a story. I will try to go with the majority but if it doesn’t end well I’ll adjust it to how I see fit.

Looking at your configs I noticed the Accro God form is weaker than the Ultimate form in the damage multiplier. Not sure if that is intentional or just an oversight. I know it’s hard to get things right for a map or story line as I’m doing something similar myself. Just not as extensive as what you’re doing at the moment.
I pushed my config settings to allow people to have the power to turn super saiyan (if they chose saiyan race of course) with a minimal of 300k in power level. Far as god forms, fusion, and UI, I have the tp cost insanely high to the point it’s impossible to get them. Only through a npc quest can they unlock it if they want it. Still adjusting things myself as people have taken one of the very few training missions to get forms higher than the saga I have them in. Guy has SS3 form in my Cell Saga because he wanted the form….yet weaker than my Full Power SS form.

Sorry I haven’t posted an update in a while, TBH I’ve just been playing alot of Hardcore Minecraft and SSBU lately and this project took the back seat. I’ll try to start working on it more, but for now I have a poll for you.
This poll pertains to the infamous filler of dbz, as well as the movies.
You guys can decide if you want the filler and movies to included in the saga or not, you can also pick to have one over the other.
As for the situation of the og DBZ Broly and the new DBS Broly:
I will not be adding DBZ Broly, at all. This is because I don’t want to have both characters in the saga at the same time, since DBS Broly will be in the main saga regardless of the poll outcome.
I’m not excluding DBZ Broly because of his character, as much as I dislike it.
If the poll outcome asks for movies to be in the main saga, rather than as sidequests, I will have to take some creative liberties with the story of the movies and the series itself, so keep that in mind when you vote.
I’ll try to give you guys some good news about the saga sooner rather than later, but that’s it for now.

So I have some news on the saga, after 1 eternity:
I finally made it to the Piccolo Jr. Saga!
I have been dicking around with some models but it has been a while since I have done that and I didn’t like how any of them ended up, so I have no news regarding that. Nor have I made a decent version of the map yet, since I am having trouble adding in modded blocks to WorldPainter despite looking at several tutorials.
I also adjusted the configs a bit, but I forgot to recheck the polls when I did so I looked back at them and it turns out that balanced power and cost is now in the lead, when before it was high power high cost. So now these cards I made are useless. But you can have a look at them anyways.
These will be lowered, since people want a more balanced set of forms. But I already made them so I didn’t want them to go to waste.
Also, I want to know if you guys want me to release a demo of the Saga as it is now, or If you want to wait until the end of the Piccolo Jr Saga and after I do a bit of testing myself.
As for the future of the project, I think I will go up until the end of the Piccolo Jr saga and then I will start trying to finish or start other stuff before I continue. I will for sure try to finalize the config files before I start on DragonBall Z.
I don’t have anything else to post for now, so I’ll leave you all with this sick meme I made.

I have a new poll, this one really doesn’t have much to do with the saga. But it involves the map that is being made for it, as well as any potential mods.
It involves weapons and their usefulness in DBC, as currently they don’t have much use outside of the early game. I want to know if people want weapons to be given a use in DBC or not.
That is really it right now, I’m going to be working more on the map and models for the saga for a while, so there won’t be much in the way of saga updates for quite some time.

I forgot to include the new configs in the last post, so here you go.
I also made a text document that includes all the forms and their info so people can look at that instead of hunting for it through the configs. In it I also included something I like to call the “Drain Rating” which is nothing more than a measuring stick to compare the energy drainage of forms. So if a form has a DRate of 10 than it will drain half as much ki as a form with a DRate of 20. Some things like the Kaioken and Ultimate Form don’t have a DRate because they either A: Don’t drain anything or B: I don’t know how their drain functions work so I can’t assign them a DRate.
Keep in mind this config is not final, but it is more or less what the saga will be based on from this point forward.

I have a bit of news regarding the saga:
This is the latest version of the Saga Map, I tried to add the DBC blocks in but I couldn’t get it to work. So the map will most likely not feature them as part of the natural terrain.
In other news after messing about with the configs and testing them I discovered that I needed to change the God Forms. Why you ask? Well for whatever unthinkable, nonsensical, pain-in-my-ass reason the purchase modifier for God Forms makes it so you have to always pay 5x the amount of TP of SSJB to get LVL 1 God Form, There is no way to change this that I have found. So have fun paying 10 Mil TP to get your God Forms.
BTW I updated the Dropbox link above to contain the new shit.
(P.S. The map of the Dragonworld looks like a limp dong. Change my mind.)

I’ve been trying to find something exactly like this. I really want to play through all of dragon ball, dbz, and super. I couldn’t find anything that added them until this and almost resorted to making my own. Please keep it going and if you need any help with it maybe I can help out. It’s a big project that might go faster with more people on it. Keep up the good work!

As of right now I am working on the actual map and the models that will go with the saga, once I test the saga more I will release an updated demo. this whole project will be a WIP for a long time.
